I think it needs more powerfull demons up the food chain.

"I am so beastly tired of mankind and the world that nothing can interest me unless it contains a couple of murders on each page or deals with the horrors unnameable and unaccountable that leer down from the external universes."

No one has ever seriously envisioned continuing Proust. Lovecraft, they have. And it's not a matter of secondary works presented as homage, nor of parodies, but truly a continuation. Which is unique in the history of modern literature.

What's more, the role HPL plays as the generator of dreams is not limited to literature alone. His work, at least to the same extent as RE Howard's, although often less obviously, has been a profound factor in the renaissance of fantasy illustration. Even rock music, usually so distrustful of all things literary, has made a point of paying homage to him - a homage, one might say, paid by one great power to another, by one mythology to another. As for the implications of Lovecraft's writing in the domains of architecture or film, they will be immediately apparent to the sensitive reader. This is the building of a new world.

Hence the importance of building blocks and of construction techniques. To prolong the impact.

this is ok

I dunno it feels like theres a need for "sophistication" where none is needed - I think thats what bothers me - the main theme is diluted by "elegance" or "esthetics" or something - design.

Why do paintings need to be designs? What about chaos?

I dont know what Im talking about.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Senior U.S. military officials in Iraq on Sunday sought to link Iran to deadly armor-piercing explosives and other weapons that they said are being used to kill U.S. and Iraqi troops with increasing regularity.

To think aristocrats used to ski Iran's slopes. I know a guy who was walking down the street with his dad and his dad pointed to a building and said "thats where the hostages are being held"

or something like that.

i heard this is surreal conceptualism and makes sense within the stable of FPG.

I hope Nader Ahriman is a Metalhead.

I was listening to a bunch of new stuff - Slayer, Mammoth, Goatsnake

So in that context - you know look at a Budgie album cover or whatever. It can be better than a Cy Twombly, often.
Guess Im a philistine.
Why God Why?

will someone please yell de chirico?! regardless of previous posts...
ok I will do it.
Wait, what was i saying?

poppy said...

yes, this is metaphysical 101, but i mean, do we need those little heads as reference? Can people revisit themes and make them somewhat personal or relevant somehow? Why does it have to be like,...Look what I'm doing,..thats right, de chirico! Its how it reads...
I would rather see a stage set for all sorts of props like the rubber gloves etc..mixed in with the little narrative that nobody really cares about anyway. Can't these be a little more creative. You don't need those manequin heads. If your going there, go all the way. and create your own metaphysical reality.
