similar palette to a lot of saeko takagi's work;muted purples and pinks. seems to imply something corrupt, sinister about nature and perception. I kinda like this one, kinda got a trendier, younger Dumas feel to it:

other Murase .

in an unrelated topic(sorry)
@ zip here's an example of the word conceit in artspeak:

In this elegant group show, photographers-cum-curators Justine Kurland and Dan Torop subtly challenge the conceit that a concentration on the human figure and a faithful adherence to the real are the sole means to render a photographic image intelligible.

I read that and I thought it was being facetious, because didnt edward weston do that back in 1930? I am riddled with rock salt. my fields lie fallow.

Methinks its a rubber dam on the cunnilingus of art history.

Conceit seems to be anything from an armature, to a coathanger in the hands of an abortionist.

I looked up the literary meaning, and it goes back to some fascination with Italy - probably because they were rich, and silver spoons are great to bang together.

too busy

better

I think htis painting resembles the former - too busy. Leave white space with the wash...or dont't but why must the whole space be filled like a parachute caught in the trees?

I think the equivalent in oil painting is when you are doing the wet into wet thing but you "overdo it" and get mud. I dont like mud, in the same way I dont like this painting.

On the other hand, the whole zen circle thing keeps my mind occupied for a millisecond. Probably more fun to make than to look at.

Are we seeing a mind at work or on idle here?

would go well with it and a sun filled condo with white furniture and a chihuahua.

Seems like an adolescent approching womanhood, forces of nature, menstruation, growth . I like it, the figure doesn't over power the design

A particular piece of this painting is interesting, the O'keefe-ish part in the center of the bottom 1/3rd.
