otto dix fer shizzle, huh? i like the other guy in this show better. he even does a knock off of steve mumford

i just dont know what painting can bring to this subject matter. harrell fletcher's "the american war" is the best--most relevent and powerful-- piece of art i've seen on contemporary war

Gosh, these are the opposite of sexy. Dry, formal, reminicent of death. Interesting though. But are they paintings? They seem more akin (in form & spirit) to the graphic art in Adbusters to me.

Methinks there is some bravery in Miss Lucy's postulates. See her Silver.

I didn't know Sharon Lucy's work. But now I know she's nifty with a racket and woman enough to print and wear her own T--so straight away there is a brush with a serve and press, though perhaps not all in the same swing.
Whimsical, plain, playful, and shiny--shiny in the sense they twinkle in the middle of mind set of the seen.

I'd go see this for sure. Sharon tingle when your work turns up in Tokyo.

Sorry Shannon for the Sharon. The keys were a bit hung over this morning. It is the season!

seems like a real sweety gallery to me -this one...yes this is a painting though. seems like the gallery is trying to tap into a few trends with their artists. I remember as an undergrad thinking about how to make an abstract painting.. one way was to change the context of marks etc... to support narratives -- any way this crap is everywhere i'm so glad i stopped..
abstract = car crash, explosions = action. definate drivel but if it floats your boat.. I kinda like this painting but then again ... i haven't eaten today but one donut (sp)

Haven't seen the show, but this particular painting seems funerary like this Marsden Hartley classic.

oops, my parents cat is blind. Its scumbling around with its wiskers. QUite pathetic. Its frightened adn yet wants to assert its independence. Yeah its gonna die, that or live from chair to food dish. I say give it an honorable death fighting a racoon for a donut.

Oh yeah but I do hate scumbling. It makes me thristy. Thus spackled zerathustra.

Like Jasper "grey and stuff like grey" Johns.

Im with jpg critic on this one. No doubting thomas, I.

nd the children call him famous,
what the old men call insane,
And sometimes he's so nameless,
That he hardly knows which game to play...
Which words to say...
And I should have told him, "No, you're not old."
And I should have let him go on...smiling...being wise.
